Dengue Outbreak Prevention
One of our co-founders, Robson Aleixo, delivered in his Master's research project in Data Science and Smart Cities, a machine learning model capable of predicting dengue outbreaks up to 3 months in advance.
Featured on FAPESP, the article titled “Predicting Dengue Outbreaks with Explainable Machine Learning” received the award for best paper at the AI4Health International Workshop, held in May 2021 in Italy.
The aim of the study was to provide a model that would streamline data analysis and help health authorities understand the reasons behind outbreak predictions, allowing them to better plan their actions and have time to act, with the help of artificial intelligence.
Together with InterSCity , GOIN is implementing this model in several locations in Brazil, such as Indaiatuba, in the interior of São Paulo, and the state of Minas Gerais.
GOIN believes that investments in R&D are a great way to develop innovative solutions with cutting-edge technology. We hope that this research can increasingly contribute to the use of data and evidence in public policy.
